This is my third set of Magpeds. They have the perfect amount of grip for mountain biking Az single track.

I waited a couple of months after receiving the pedals before drafting a review. Overall, I am quite happy with them, and they are now my favorite pedal. The grip is strong, and they provide ample rotational movement for my foot.

I work in the industry and was a bit skeptical at first about Magped and how they lined up against other clipless pedals like road or SPD. However, upon trying them I couldn't be happier with their performance. I will definitely be looking into putting these on more bikes in the future. Customer support with Magped was also great.

I had been looking for something other than a clip in pedal since my hip replacement surgery in February of this year. I found the Magped pedals on the internet and it became an item that I would look back to at some point in the future. After the initial basic recovery from my surgery, I got back on the bike with my clipless pedals and started to ride again. I got back into the rhythm with my weekly rides and then one morning, dropped a towel I carry on my handlebars and slowed, then turned around slowly to go back to pick it up. During the turn, I decided to put my foot down and it took a beat longer than planned and not unclipping quickly enough, fell and landed on my knee. A slight injury, a bone bruise my doc said but I began to look more closely at the Magped pedals again so I reached out via e-mail to ask a few questions. I got a response right away from May who answered all my questions and I placed an order. It was about a week maybe less, and I received the pedals. The instructions were clear and I had no problem setting them up. I adjusted them initially and then on the first ride, they worked perfectly. There was only a little minor getting used to clipping in period but was mastered on my first ride. The best compliment I can make other than the quality, ease of installation and use is that they work just like a clipless pedal, very secure and solid but with the added (and really the reason I got them) feature that was the ease of removing my feet from the pedals when I wanted to. I really tested these pedals and they performed very well. Standing on a climb, cranking on the straights, they were secure and felt great. After the first ride, I made only a slight adjustment to balance the magnet force one side to the other but that was it. I can't say enough about these pedals. They are all Magped says they would be. I'd highly and happily recommend these pedals to anyone who uses clipless pedals.

It has taken a while for me to get a perfect setup, but now that I got it, I've had a perfect balance of flat freedom and clipless secure feel.

These are a game changer the feel of being clipped in with a much easier release if you need to dap.

I am 6'6", 250lbs and wear size 16 shoes. No MTB specific shoe exists in size 16, so I have been stuck in the world of flats for 50+ years. At my age I was unwilling to learn how to ride clipless with road bike shoes on MTB trails....and then magped arrives. So far I have really enjoyed magped, the benefits of clipless pedals without the dreaded clipped in spills. Spent several hours on very technical climbs and descents. Had to "footdown" a couple of times (and was able to without issue). Pedal strikes did not send my foot flying off the pedals and descents happened with more confidence. Thanks....

As a fairly new MTB rider - I am leary of clip in pedals. I have used my magped pedals twice now and I am enjoying them. I feel a little more connected to my bike and I can feel a push & pull as I am pedaling. Using different leg muscles at first but overall not as tired. I have been telling several of my friends about them

It took a while, but I finally found the best hybrid pedal for the type of off-road riding I'm doing (Baja Divide). I tried flat pedals but as an ex-roadie it just never felt right. Then I tried the one-sided spd pedals but they were always on the wrong side and frustrating. The Magpeds are exactly what I need. Super strong with the up/down pedal stroke but simple to get out of laterally - even in an up-hill moment of failure with hardly any foot leverage. With magnets on both sides you don't need to worry which pedal side is up. Great product. Problem solved...finally.
