I do not review every mtn bike or off road motorcycle product I purchase but I thought this one deserved it.
51 yr old leisure rider now but have ridden mtn bikes for 32 + yrs. I have a bad knee ( almost bone on bone / 2 surgeries) that gets irritated when in a panic trying to un clip from SPD pedals anymore.. I tried just riding flats–they are “ok” but feet would slip or fly off occasionally creating turmoil.
These enduro mag peds..man what a great compromise! Even with good knees I would prefer them over SPD due to the flexibility in foot positioning. They are surprising strong , can get plenty of pull up on crank if that concerns you and super easy to get loose from in a hurry if needed. I would definitely recommend trying them if you are on the fence. Just do it- I know you have spent more on a bar tab! A little setup time is key ( 30 minutes or so), read the instructions and you will not be mad.

These are great peddles for my needs and riding. I’ve ridden clips not long jus this summer they work great. The instructions have a recommended pin set up I followed that and added 2 extra tall pins in front, I added the shoe plates extensions raised up the magnets some level with the short pins and I’m stoked. I ordered the strong plates and if your riding in super steep and chunk I think they will be a bit better I haven’t tried them yet tho. If you have been clipping in for a really long time you might not like these I don’t know it’s such a personal thing but they are worth a try I think. I’m enjoying them not sending them back by any means. I’m wearing 5ten Kestral’s with them and they work. Setting up my shoes first worked great because I had my peddles there and could eye ball pin height and magnet height so I pretty close to the right set up first try, I’m using the strongest magnet on pedals I think it was 200n. Thanks

If you have problems in clipping into and out of traditional pedals that use cleats. This is your solution. Provides easier connection and release than traditional clip ins. Because of ligament damage in ankle, I could not use clip in pedals but can use these. I am 10% faster than just using flat pedals.

Amazing!! I love the feeling of having my feet “locked in“ without being fully locked in! The magnets are strong (I got the 150N) and I am actually able to pedal up hills with one foot. That’s how strong they are!!
I definitely feel more secure on my bike going over jumps and rolls! I’ve been telling all of my mtb friends about them and even sold a few friends to purchase these 😉
All in all, amazing. Anyone debating buying these. Do it. You will not be disappointed.
Send it!! 🤙🏼

Got them in the mail last week. Got them set up and left them in the box until I could get some shoes. Build quality seems top notch. Grabbed shoes this past weekend but had a health issue pop up so got them on the bike and rode around my driveway getting used to them. A nice positive click when the plate engages the magnet. And when adjusted properly holds the shoe tight to the pins. Finally got to ride tonight. Tight single track, some techy down hill. A few jumps. They are amazing so far. I’ll edit this review in a few weeks after multiple rides to see how they do but I am so happy at the moment. Exactly the pedal I was looking for!

Quite pleased, everything I expected. I’m a below knee amputee from a motorcycle accident. These allow me to keep my foot where it needs to be yet able to disengage when I want. I had one too many falls from not being able to twist out of my SPD pedals and decided to pull the trigger on the Magpeds – glad I did.
Only issue I’ve run across is the shoes I bought (Giro Chamber II) don’t have a perfectly rectangular cleat recess so the cleat plates don’t sit flush. But that’s the shoe’s fault. I tried some older Shimano shoes (SH-MT54L) I had in storage and they worked better.

Lighter than I expected, and the gun metal color is sweet.

I have only used these once, but I don’t need much more time to say that these are awesome. I was afraid of being unable to bail with “clipless” shoes (which aren’t clipless at all, not sure who thought of this name) but wanted to have the feeling of being clipped in. These gave me exactly what I was looking for. The only issue I had was more than half of one side of the small pegs I inserted into the pedals were missing when I finished my ride. I tried to tighten them as much as I could with the hex-wrench that was provided but it felt as though I was stripping them. I have additional pegs that I didn’t use so I will add those today and tighten them with my own hex-wrench, but I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND these. Someone even asked me about them on the trail and I told him they are worth it. If you want to send me stickers or any decals, I would be more than happy to become a brand ambassador for your company. Although I am new to the world of mountain biking, I will be here for a very long time. Thanks again for the amazing customer service, I look forward to using these on a daily basis.

I have been riding clipped in for decades. I felt I needed to change my MTB pedals to something safer, but still want that click meaning I am connected. I love the potential and have 2 rides. The first ride was rough because I didn’t know where to put my feet or contact the cleat. Made some cleat adjustments and added a super grip cleat they sent me. I reduced the pins to about 2mm by attaching from the bottom of the pedal body. Ride number #2 was so much better. I am starting to understand the stroke, while trying to break a bit of muscle memory. I really think this will be my MTB pedal!!
Having said that I have to give a tremendous shout out to the company for amazing customer service and support. My original order had a bent pedal shaft on the left. I was so pissed. I contacted them that day. They responded the next day and sent out another set of pedals, along with the the better plates and some anodized colored end caps. That means so much to a consumer that is investing in their products. I had to buy new shoes so this was important. They did a solid job of taking care of their customer!!! I give 5 stars for the quality and customer service!!! 🐝

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): I’m VERY HAPPY with my Magped pedals and accessories, and will continue to exclusively use these on all my bikes going forward!
I’ll share my somewhat long, but hopefully helpful and detailed review so it helps others make good decisions as well. I was primarily a runner, but after two total knee replacements, I’ve given up running, and ride exclusively, 20-30 miles/day, 350+ days/year (Sunny St. George, UT affords me that luxury). I primarily mountain bike, but will also road/gravel bike. I ride hard on my Specialized Levo Comp Alloy MTB, and my DMR Vault flat pedals combined with my 5.10 Kestrel shoes worked pretty well. I’d say 85% of the time, they stuck like glue. I also started with Crank Bros. Candy 3 clipless pedals, but was too sketched out about not getting unclipped in bad situations.
Enter the Magped ENDURO2 Pedals. After getting them installed, getting my shoes setup just right (more on that later), and then test-ridden for ~100 miles of the hardest riding I could do on our trails, I can say that they worked PERFECTLY for me! Not once did I have an accidental pop-off, in the air, dropping, climbing steep – they stayed 100% engaged the whole time – like clipless. And when I climbed, I could get that extra power of pulling up. With flats, you “scrape off your shoe”, which gives you additional power beyond the downstroke, but you don’t get full efficiency including the upstroke unless you can pull as well. At the same time, when I needed to come off my pedals to get a foot down quick – just a quick lean out on the shoe and voila! I had a foot down in a split second! THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! I was hopeful this would be the case, and happy to say that it is.
Now, for specifics of my setup. First, pin configuration. Their advice in the documentation is spot-on for me. I have four long pins across the top, four shorts in the middle, and two longs in the back. This is similar to my other pedals, follows the curve of my shoe, and ensures 100% contact and even pressure across all contact points. I added blue Loctite to each pin. For my shoes, I used the strong plates, with the additional plastic spacer underneath, and the positioning plate as well. I slid the plates to the very bottom of the plate window, so that I would engage the pedal with the axis just to the rear of the ball of my foot (best weight-bearing position for landing MTB maneuvers). At first I didn’t use the positioning plate, but I didn’t always get my foot where I wanted it. For some, that may be what they want, but for me, I want it in the exact same position every time. The positioning plates did this for me. Lastly, the adjusting of the magnets for engagement on the pedals. Again, the instructions are spot-on for this step, and THIS IS CRUCIAL to getting them tuned in just right. Using 1/2 turns of the magnet bolts, popping your shoes on and off gets them dialed in just right. With your shoes unweighted, they should solidly touch your pins so that they don’t turn, but you should also get a solid “click” sound when the magnet engages. This is easy to dial in, and only took me about 5 minutes to do. This way, when your shoes ARE weighted (with you), they dig into those pins (which are good, aggressive pins), whilst also engaging solidly with the magnet – THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.
That’s it! I’ve pounded the crap out of these pedals, and they don’t even show the slightest sign of distress. I’ve ridden 25 miles at a time – uphill, downhill, jumping, and dropping – and not once unclipped from the first time I clipped at the beginning of the ride. I bought ENDURO2 pedals for all my MTB’s, and will get a set of SPORT2 pedals for my gravel bike as well. Thanks Magped!

The base magnet is excellent! To maximize how this pedal works you need to spend 10 mins properly fitting this to your shoe. I left all the pins off until after i mounted the mag plate on the shoe. then let the shoe snap to the magnet on the pedal. observed the gaps. put a few long and short pins in appropriate places where the lugs on my shoe were not. ended up needing very few pins to completely prevent twist or slip ( less is more of placed correctly). After installing pins the last thing i did was adjust height of magnet on pedal. I get that audible loud snap when attached. there is no gap between shoe plate and pedal magnet. If i try and twist the shoe i get zero twist. And i’m getting maximum contact on pedal with the essential pins only (8 pins a side only). These are amazing pedals and work better than advertised, as long as you do your part. If these ever wear out (doubtful) I will buy another pair!! They are that good! period!

OUTSTANDING!! I have to admit I was skeptical when I first saw these. I’ve always ridden flat pedals, but have wanted to try clipping in but was a bit scared. These looked like a good in between option so I decided to give them a try. I ride an enduro bike, and its not the best for climbs, but on my first ride with the MagPeds, WHOA!!! I was up the mountain SO much quicker, and with much less effort than with the flats. It took no time at all for me to get used to these, which was surprising since I’ve never ridden clipless pedals. The build quality is great as well, and not nearly as heavy as I thought they would be. For the shoes, I got the Specialized 2FO DH Clip Mountain, and they work great with these pedals (be sure to order a half size bigger than normal with those shoes). I also got the STRONG plates, which definitely work better than the standard plates included.
I highly recommend these pedals if you want the benefits of a clipless pedal, but don’t want to be fully locked in. Great product!!

I don’t write reviews but I am making an exception. MagPeds EXCEEDED all my expectations. They are easy to use, no practicing required. My feet stick while I am pedaling and come off easily when I am stopping. I am free of clips forever. Also, when I emailed questions I got a fast response, and shipping was quick. I hesitated 6 months before purchasing these, but that was a mistake because I LOVE THEM! For reference I am female, in my late 60’s, road cyclist, brittle bones. These help me ride fast but feel safe.

I am so happy I bought these pedals. I weigh 150lbs and got the 200N magnets for the extra strength. I love how well they work compared to standard clipless pedals. You feel completely locked into the pedal until you want to be released. A simple twist and pull of the foot is all you need to free yourself and plant a foot down. Love how easy it is to clip in too. The only complicated part of the pedal is the setup. They explain it super well but it just takes a lot of time to do it. I was unaware until buying it that the height of the magnet had to be adjusted. This took the longest because you want a good flat connection between the plate and the magnet. Otherwise these are fantastic pedals that can for sure take a beating. 9/10 would recommend to a friend.

I ordered a second pair. Due to a spinal cord injury, I do not have total control of one of my legs. For 10 years, I have had to clip in to my pedals in order to ride a bicycle. As a result, while mountain biking, I would tip over way too often. Using my Magpeds, I think that I’ve achieved the needed attachment versus freedom that I need. I can more easily plant my foot when the going gets too rough.

I didn’t like clips on the more rugged, sandy, muddy and extreme terrains gravel and mixed terrain biking. The Enduro is a great alterative. I stay secure when pulling up in pedal stroke. They are perfect for him and he doesn’t have to struggle or need assistance getting a clip on and off his feet!

The pedals are amazing. The grip is great and the pedals do what they are intended to do.
I have the ulta 2 on my CX bike and I love them but needed something more rugged for my trail bike.
That being said, when watching YouTube reviews I noticed that people who give any magped pedal a bad review do it bc they don’t use the proper shoe and most of the time they also don’t adjust the height of the magnet to create contact between the pedal pins and the sole of the shoe.
The quality is very nice but I only had one issue.
When carefully installing the pins in the pedal. A few of the pins were easily cross threaded. I hand started them and once I started to use a tool to tighter them past the first two turns they started to cross thread.
I would recommend having the pins all pre installed and have the customer remove the ones that they don’t want on the pedal.
I tried to install the certain pin from either direction and I could jot get it to install without the cross threading happening.
Extra pins ate greatly appreciated and the pedals are amazing.
I’m looking forward to ordering the extra strength by 35% magnetic plates bc I love the connected feeling I get from the pedals.
That being said, my friend used my 200 unta 2 pedals and he said that they are amazing and that more magnetic force is not needed. Needless to say this is subjective and the pedals are 5 star products that I highly recommend.

I wanted the feeling of being clipped in but without the anxiety of not unclipping in time. I also wanted to stick to the pedals going off of jumps and not raking my shins when I miss the pedal. These are the perfect in between clip-in and flat pedals. I will probably buy another pair for my other bike. Testing grounds were Santos Trails ( Vortex ) in central Florida.

I bought these for my son who is an avid mountain bike rider and races on a NICA NY team. He has been riding with the Enduro pedals for about a week. He loves the mix between having more power on the upstroke while still having the freedom of flats. Races starts soon so we will keep you posted!

I have used Flat pedals and I have used clipless pedals on my 3 bikes (1 road, 2 Mtn). The flats gave me the flexibility to move my feet but lacked power during the cycle and the clipless gave me the power during the cycle but made me uncomfortable with being mechanically attached to the bike. So I tried a pair of your Enduro magnetic pedals and they truly are a game changer for me, a great compromise between flats and being clipped in, I get power throughout the cycle stroke but I can easily get my foot off the pedal when I need to, I’m clipped in but not clipped in, thanks for a great product!

I’ve been using the Magped Enduro peddles for almost 2 years now. Previous to MTBing I always clipped-in on my road bikes. 2 1/2 years ago I had a stroke which comprised the left side of my body. I was unable to disconnect from a clip-less peddle.
Since I reside at the base of a mountain with numerous trails, and was able to ride again, I decided to switch to eMTB. (Game changer with all the thrills). However my left foot would bounce off the peddle at the worst moment while using flats. I needed some kind of engagement without the worry of disengagement when I wanted.
I sat a my coffee table and designed a magnetic peddle/shoe system …then decided to use google…found Magpeds. (Funny moment). The Enduro Magpeds looked like the answer …and they were.
After I received the these Enduro Magpeds I gave them a try on our local trails. After a few kilometres, a number of drops and a steep rock garden, I had no accidental disconnecting. When I wanted to re-engage, an audible snap/click told me that my left foot was engaged. Without looking down at my left foot I can re-engage on the fly. No more stopping. My foot positions itself correctly on the peddle.
After several thousand km on our local MTB trails …these are the answer. Other riders wonder and some realize that these peddles may work for them. They work for me …game changer.
Btw, Rick at Magped has been very helpful. (Thumbs-up).

I rode these pedals and found the rearward magnetic location awkward. I like my foot farther forward to allow more shoe contact.
So since I’m not normal, just discarding or returning the pedals wasn’t how I solve problems. I removed the pedals from the spindles and swapped them from side to side. Problem solved and another satisfied customer. This should be worth a free t-shirt, decal or a least an attaboy. Don’t t bother to tell me I voided the warranty. Warrantys don’t mean much these days anyway.

I usually don’t comment on purchases but the results from these pedals were nothing short of incredible for my son. His MTB skills are decent but many times he falls short making climbs and obstacles due to slipping off his pedals which were quality shimano flats. His very first time out on these was nothing short of amazing our ride went from the usual me leading and waiting on him to him leading the way and making many climbs and obstacles he has never made before. I got him Giro Chamber II Mens Downhill Cycling Shoes. Worked great with the inserts.

Thoroughly digging these pedals. Solid engineering, design, construction, a damn fine product overall. All the benefits and efficiencies of clips/power straps without the worry of a patella pulverizing topple at the next stop.

Trying it for a week now, and have enjoyed doing the upstroking now! Setting the pins were kind of confusing at first, but I do get the idea of customizing one’s setup. 200N magnets on both sides are grabby, but it does take a learning curve to familiarize muscle memory.

I have ridden flat pedals forever and have seen too many friends fall over on clipless. I thought these would be a good in-between. I must say that I LOVE these pedals. I’m still able to adjust my feet on the fly, but my feet also don’t come off the pedals on jumps, drops and rocky tech. I feel more confident and pinned on these pedals. The platform is big and there are lots of holes to install pins – and in different configurations if you want. Great work!

She loves these pedals and is able to safely and quickly “clip” on and off her pedals, and gets enough added power to be able to pull up and through on her pedal strokes with her better leg. After seeing her on the trails, several other family members have ordered sets of these pedals and love them also! My sister loves her set that she uses instead of traditional clipless pedals, now that she has a child seat attachment on her bike. Her pedals give her better cycling than plain platform pedals, but are safer than her clipless pedals she used to ride with. Thanks so much!

Never had clips before and the
Magped are a great introduction. Would highly recommend them for all levels of riding. Currently I have them on an Evil Wreckoning and Chromag Rootdown. 👌

Nice looking pedals. Top notch costumer service . Had a small piece missing when delivered. Emailed and had a response within minutes. Sent missing piece and some extra stuff for their mistake. Lots of business could learn from the guys . Top notch .rode my pedals today and felt very attached to my bike. Not hard to get free from them when i need to . Good alternative to clips.

I really like the pedals so far. The only thing I was bummed about was that the directions said you were including an additional set of washers for cleats that gave a deep setting. I didn’t receive those.

It wasn’t difficult to adjust from clipless pedals to this ones… felt safe

Love the pedals this is my second set. Wish they came with the green pins though. Bent my last set was hoping to get a replacement part but never received an email back so picked up another pair.

This is a great alternative for anyone reluctant to use clipless pedals (like me). The MagPed Enduro is great. It releases easily with any natural leg movement that you would have in an emergency, and yet provides enough attachment force to keep your shoe firmly attached to the pedal while riding. No training needed, it just works! Although I am a 180# guy, I chose the 150N version out of caution and for safety reasons. However, having now used the 150N, I feel I could have also been satisfied with the 200N version. But I am sufficiently satisfied with the 150N that I have no interest in changing.

These pedals are fit for purpose in a niche between flats and clipless. I have been riding the Magped pedal for a months (more than 10 rides) before that, I have been riding clipped in for 16 years. This February I took a hard fall and broke my hip – broke off the femoral head and broke the femur. I now have a titanium rod running the length of my femur and a bunch of other hardware. The Dr strongly recommended that I do not clip in and he believed it contributed to the severity of the damage. Therefore I tried flats and have now switched to Magpeds. Although I weigh 150 pds I went for the stronger set to accommodate my style of riding.
Also I am a registered Professional Engineer. The quality of the Magpeds is very good – the only reason for the 4 versus a five is that they are quite finicky to set up and dial in. It would be helpful to have more pins and include wedged shims to help tune the angle of the steel plates attached to your shoes. I have used double sided tape, which works quite well.
Over all I am more than satisfied and would highly recommend for people looking for something between flats and clipless.

This pedals are great, easy to “clip on” and easy to get your foot out on demand. I have never found an instance where I haven’t been able to take off my foot from the pedal and regain control of the bike o prevent a fall. In addition, the magnet is strong and your foot just won’t slip or disconnect from the pedal while riding. I hit a rock with one pedal the other day and stop thinking something broke. Nah! just a scratch! Kept riding the trail without worries.

Very happy with the product and the service. If you are looking for a happy middle between flats and clips, look no further. Follow the suggestion for magnet size based on your weight!

Absolutely phenomenal product. I’m beyond impressed and how well these pedals perform on extreme DH trails. I’ve beaten the living crap out of these pedals, and am a bigger dude (270lbs), I’d swear by these pedals to anyone.

they didn’t work for me but the pedals are a quality product.

Not really your fault, but my shoes (Sidi Dominator Mega 7) do not work well with your flat pedal. I am also unable to buy wide flat bike shoes. However, the magnet works well

Great idea, executed well. Pedals do take some fiddling to get the fit just right, but once you have it set correctly, they work well.
Would like to have a few more studs (screws) provided in the package.
