Why magped pedals?
Designed in Austria by automotive engineers, we are dedicated to innovation, quality and performance.
Magped magnetic pedals are not equipped with a firm mechanical connection comparable to standard clipless pedals. The magnetic force is impacted by several factors e.g. magnet size, dirt, wear and direction of force applied. An unintended disconnection from the pedals is possible at any point of time.

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): I’m VERY HAPPY with my Magped pedals and accessories, and will continue to exclusively use these on all my bikes going forward!
I’ll share my somewhat long, but hopefully helpful and detailed review so it helps others make good decisions as well. I was primarily a runner, but after two total knee replacements, I’ve given up running, and ride exclusively, 20-30 miles/day, 350+ days/year (Sunny St. George, UT affords me that luxury). I primarily mountain bike, but will also road/gravel bike. I ride hard on my Specialized Levo Comp Alloy MTB, and my DMR Vault flat pedals combined with my 5.10 Kestrel shoes worked pretty well. I’d say 85% of the time, they stuck like glue. I also started with Crank Bros. Candy 3 clipless pedals, but was too sketched out about not getting unclipped in bad situations.
Enter the Magped ENDURO2 Pedals. After getting them installed, getting my shoes setup just right (more on that later), and then test-ridden for ~100 miles of the hardest riding I could do on our trails, I can say that they worked PERFECTLY for me! Not once did I have an accidental pop-off, in the air, dropping, climbing steep – they stayed 100% engaged the whole time – like clipless. And when I climbed, I could get that extra power of pulling up. With flats, you “scrape off your shoe”, which gives you additional power beyond the downstroke, but you don’t get full efficiency including the upstroke unless you can pull as well. At the same time, when I needed to come off my pedals to get a foot down quick – just a quick lean out on the shoe and voila! I had a foot down in a split second! THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! I was hopeful this would be the case, and happy to say that it is.
Now, for specifics of my setup. First, pin configuration. Their advice in the documentation is spot-on for me. I have four long pins across the top, four shorts in the middle, and two longs in the back. This is similar to my other pedals, follows the curve of my shoe, and ensures 100% contact and even pressure across all contact points. I added blue Loctite to each pin. For my shoes, I used the strong plates, with the additional plastic spacer underneath, and the positioning plate as well. I slid the plates to the very bottom of the plate window, so that I would engage the pedal with the axis just to the rear of the ball of my foot (best weight-bearing position for landing MTB maneuvers). At first I didn’t use the positioning plate, but I didn’t always get my foot where I wanted it. For some, that may be what they want, but for me, I want it in the exact same position every time. The positioning plates did this for me. Lastly, the adjusting of the magnets for engagement on the pedals. Again, the instructions are spot-on for this step, and THIS IS CRUCIAL to getting them tuned in just right. Using 1/2 turns of the magnet bolts, popping your shoes on and off gets them dialed in just right. With your shoes unweighted, they should solidly touch your pins so that they don’t turn, but you should also get a solid “click” sound when the magnet engages. This is easy to dial in, and only took me about 5 minutes to do. This way, when your shoes ARE weighted (with you), they dig into those pins (which are good, aggressive pins), whilst also engaging solidly with the magnet – THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.
That’s it! I’ve pounded the crap out of these pedals, and they don’t even show the slightest sign of distress. I’ve ridden 25 miles at a time – uphill, downhill, jumping, and dropping – and not once unclipped from the first time I clipped at the beginning of the ride. I bought ENDURO2 pedals for all my MTB’s, and will get a set of SPORT2 pedals for my gravel bike as well. Thanks Magped!

I gave up clips after a couple of easily avoidable spills but never could get used to the instability of flat pedals. Only have had a few rides yet but I really do like these pedals.

The base magnet is excellent! To maximize how this pedal works you need to spend 10 mins properly fitting this to your shoe. I left all the pins off until after i mounted the mag plate on the shoe. then let the shoe snap to the magnet on the pedal. observed the gaps. put a few long and short pins in appropriate places where the lugs on my shoe were not. ended up needing very few pins to completely prevent twist or slip ( less is more of placed correctly). After installing pins the last thing i did was adjust height of magnet on pedal. I get that audible loud snap when attached. there is no gap between shoe plate and pedal magnet. If i try and twist the shoe i get zero twist. And i’m getting maximum contact on pedal with the essential pins only (8 pins a side only). These are amazing pedals and work better than advertised, as long as you do your part. If these ever wear out (doubtful) I will buy another pair!! They are that good! period!

OUTSTANDING!! I have to admit I was skeptical when I first saw these. I’ve always ridden flat pedals, but have wanted to try clipping in but was a bit scared. These looked like a good in between option so I decided to give them a try. I ride an enduro bike, and its not the best for climbs, but on my first ride with the MagPeds, WHOA!!! I was up the mountain SO much quicker, and with much less effort than with the flats. It took no time at all for me to get used to these, which was surprising since I’ve never ridden clipless pedals. The build quality is great as well, and not nearly as heavy as I thought they would be. For the shoes, I got the Specialized 2FO DH Clip Mountain, and they work great with these pedals (be sure to order a half size bigger than normal with those shoes). I also got the STRONG plates, which definitely work better than the standard plates included.
I highly recommend these pedals if you want the benefits of a clipless pedal, but don’t want to be fully locked in. Great product!!

I don’t write reviews but I am making an exception. MagPeds EXCEEDED all my expectations. They are easy to use, no practicing required. My feet stick while I am pedaling and come off easily when I am stopping. I am free of clips forever. Also, when I emailed questions I got a fast response, and shipping was quick. I hesitated 6 months before purchasing these, but that was a mistake because I LOVE THEM! For reference I am female, in my late 60’s, road cyclist, brittle bones. These help me ride fast but feel safe.

200n magnets hold tightly on up-pedal, but can easily unmount foot for emergencies. Easy to “click” in without having to look down. Kit was short 8 pins, but reused old pins I had laying around. Very happy with these MagPed pedals!

Amazing pedals. Feel that connection to the bike like I did when I was clipped but able to pop out easily and ride it like flats when needed too!!
All in all an amazing product. Thank you so much for your innovative design.

They feel the same way as clips, but without that sensation of falling to the ground, because you couldn’t clip out off your shoes. This pedals make you feel more confident , it’s like being a superhero in a bike. If you don’t have, one buy it , and if you planing on buying stop what you doing and buy them.
Ok!!!

I am so happy I bought these pedals. I weigh 150lbs and got the 200N magnets for the extra strength. I love how well they work compared to standard clipless pedals. You feel completely locked into the pedal until you want to be released. A simple twist and pull of the foot is all you need to free yourself and plant a foot down. Love how easy it is to clip in too. The only complicated part of the pedal is the setup. They explain it super well but it just takes a lot of time to do it. I was unaware until buying it that the height of the magnet had to be adjusted. This took the longest because you want a good flat connection between the plate and the magnet. Otherwise these are fantastic pedals that can for sure take a beating. 9/10 would recommend to a friend.
